A Ghanaian great dancehall and reggae musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla famously known as Stonebwoy was born on March 5, 1988, in Ashaiman, Ghana, and placed fourth (4th) in a family of seven (7) siblings. His parents are Mrs. Adzigbli and Rev. Stewart Satekla, a pastor. He attended the Methodist Primary School in Ashaiman. 1GAD is married to a beautiful woman called Dr. Louisa Ansong Satekla and two children together.

He furthered his education at the University of Professional Studies, Accra where he acquired a degree in marketing in 2013. According to him, he was very active in his school’s music club and participated in various talent shows. Stonebwoy realized his love and passion for music in his early teens, during which he was able to write lyrics and join words together in a rhythmic manner. He has been a star from his teens till now. His first track was recorded in his family studio.

Stonebwoy’s music career began in Senior High School, where he met up with a radio DJ/Presenter, Doctor Duncan who at that time was the host of KASAHARI, a real-time rap battle program. Because of his talent, he was able to meet Sakordie, Dr Cryme, and many other relevant rappers in the rap battle program.

Stonebwoy released his first radio hit song ”Makuma (My Heart)” when he was in Senior High School. He later released another hit song titled ”Empress” which made him popular low-key. 1GAD decided to work with S24 Studios in 2008 when he saw numerous of traffic on his underground songs. He later joined the dancehall legend (Samini) on his HighGrade family record label. Through his hard work, he later formed his record label named ”Burniton Music Group (BMG).”

Livingstone Etse Satekla is also popularly known for his signature ”BHIM” and has collaborated with a lot of musicians in Ghana and internationally. Now he is everywhere on the map doing great things with music in reggae and dancehall style.

Stonebwoy has won numerous awards including BET Awards, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, All Africa Music Awards, MTN 4Syte Music Awards, International Reggae and World Music Awards, African Entertainment Awards USA, AFRIMA 2019, 3Music Awards, Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2024.
