Early Life
Kwame Nsiah-Apau popularly known by his stage name Okyeame Kwame aka “Rap Doctor” is a Ghanaian musician and songwriter born on April 17, 1976, in Kumasi, Ghana. He is the third of six siblings. His two younger brothers are also in the music industry. They are; Kwaku Nsiah Boamah also known as “Flowking Stone” and Kwaku Nsiah Amankwah popularly known as”Kunta Kinte“, These two brothers are behind the popular song ”Bradez”. Kwame’s father was an accountant and his mother was a tutor.

In a post sighted by Tunebeatz.com, the most interesting part of his education checks was, that when he was in primary school he was finding it difficult to learn especially in the aspect of reading and writing, and is due to ”dyslexia”. I know the word ”dyslexia” might sound ugly to you but let me explain it to you. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words.

After going through the battles in primary school, Okyeame Kwame continued to further his education at Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi. Rap Doctor took his music lessons seriously at secondary school but his literature master encouraged him with his words more.
According to Okyeame Kwame, he started writing music way back in primary school and also had the chance to perform on stage in secondary school. Kwame Nsiah-Apau later attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he studied Akan and Sociology. He was able to specialize in Classical Guitar and graduated as a linguist. Kwame later attended the University of Ghana, where he earned his master’s degree in Strategic Marketing.

She is an entrepreneur and also part of her husband’s businesses which involves Marketing, food products, and more. Okyeame Kwame and Annica Nsiah-Apau have two children namely; Sir Kwame Bota and Shanti Antwiwaa.
His Music Career
Okyeame Kwame’s music career started when he joined the duo hiplife/rap ”Akyeame” together with Daniel Kofi Amoateng also known as Okyeame Kofi. They recorded and released albums from 1997 to 2002. Along the way in 2004, the rap doctor and Okyeame Kofi parted.
The legendary, Okyeame Kwame also performed a lot of Solo under his record label ”One Mic Entertainment” which was located in Accra. He collaborated with renowned Ghanaian highlife and hiplife artists like Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah, and many more. These are song of the songs that gave Kwame more publicity; Nyansapo (Witty Knot), Nkonsonkonson (Shackles), Ntoaso (Continuity), Apam Foforo (New Testament), Boshe Ba (Promised Child), Manwesem (My Poetry), The Clinic and more.
Awards
Okyeame Kwame was later recognized for his hard work and won the award for ”Artist of the Year” at the Ghana Music Awards in 2009.
